Denmark

Set amongst amazing coastal scenery and lush forest areas, Denmark offers a diverse range of activities, sights and experiences. There are cafés, restaurants, art and craft studios, wineries and places to relax, ride a paddle boat up the river or just soak up the local atmosphere. It’s only a 10 minute trip into town to pick up that missing ingredient for diner.

Beaches, Inlets and Rivers

A short walk from the chalet along densely wooded trails leads you to the local beach at William Bay where you are most likely to find yourself on your own private beach.

The Willim Bay area is home to some spectacular beaches and coastal scenes. Green’s Pool offers clear protected waters for safe swimming and snorkeling. Other beaches close by include Ocean Beach, Parrys Beach and Peaceful Bay. There is great fishing in the ocean and local inlets, great spots to surf and uncrowded beaches to leave your footprints on.

Food & Wine

Local wineries are being recognized as producers of some of the finest wines on offer in Australia and you can sample them right at their cellar doors. While many don’t operate restaurants they are usually situated amongst stunning local scenery and make great places to take a picnic.

There are restaurants, cafes, cheese, ice cream and chocolates factories tucked away in the valleys and forests that make use of the finest foods and produce that are available locally.

Arts, Craft and Culture

The beauty of the natural environment provides endless inspiration to local craftspeople, artists and performers. The arts and crafts on offer are as diverse as the local culture and can be discovered at art galleries, studios, local markets, festivals and performances in Denmark or tucked away in venues hidden amongst forests, valleys and farmlands.

Bibbulmun Track / Bushwalking

The Bibbulmun Track passes right past the property so it makes an ideal place to do short walks from or stop over to rest your weary feet if you are passing through. This area of the Track goes through the William Bay National Park and features beach walking and sections through lush coastal heath.

Valley of The Giants / Tree Top Walk

The Valley of the Giants is a magnificent old growth forest situated about half an hours drive away. The trees can reach up to 16m in circumference and tower high above. This is home to the popular Tree Top Walk where you can walk through the Tingle and Karri tree canopy 60 metres about the ground on an elevated walkway.

Scenic Drives

Popular scenic drives around Denmark include the Scotsdale Tourist Drive and the Mount Shadforth Scenic Drive.  Many of the local cafes, wineries and attractions are located off these two roads.
